Paul Baran
President and CEO, Paul Baran brings over 26 years of data management experience in building DBA teams which provide efficient database support, data administration, data architecture, and consulting services.
As Director of Enterprise Data Management for Wachovia Corporation for 12 years, Paul built a highly skilled DBA Department of 150 DBAs which supported 6,500 production databases across all mainframe and client server platforms.
Paul managed an annual budget of $ 27 million, and delivered efficient database administration processes which saved $115 million since 1998 in database tuning and consolidation efforts. Paul worked for 4 years at the State of Florida - Department of HRS, Health & Rehabilitative Services, as DBA/Systems Manager, providing database Disaster Recovery support during Hurricane Andrew and leading the database development and implementation of the new FLORIDA welfare system.
Paul has 6 years of experience in the IT insurance industry
working as Senior DBA and Team leader for Blue Cross Blue Shield of CT, and The Travelers Insurance Co.
As DBA Manager for Price Waterhouse for 3 years, Paul performed IT insurance industry consulting work for Aetna, The Hartford Insurance Company, Cigna, Allstate, Confederation Life, and ALAS. A native of Connecticut, Paul holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in History and English from Bishop’s University in Quebec, has completed several MBA classes at University of New Haven, and is a graduate of the Computer Processing Institute of East Hartford.
